Texas Society of Professional Engineers Hosts Annual Awards Luncheon during Engineer’s Week on Feb. 18

On Feb. 18,  Dallas and Preston Trail Chapters of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers will host its annual Engineers Week Awards Luncheon coinciding with Engineers Week, Feb. 16–22.

In lieu of a keynote address, a panel of educators and engineers will address the 2020 Engineers Week theme “Pioneers of Progress” - the 30th anniversary of DiscoverE’s first nationwide call for engineers to visit classrooms and introduce K-12 students to engineering. The keynote panel includes: Kenya Wilson, deputy director of Educate Texas, Tom Price, PE, senior vice president of solutions and technology at Jacobs, Diane Combs, PE, head teacher at Hillcrest High School Academy of Engineering, Dallas ISD and Rob Wetterskog, assistant dean, Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science and director, UTDesign Studio. MLB’s Texas Rangers Digital Host, Hannah Wing will emcee the event. 

Dallas and Preston Trail Chapters of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers  - a state society of the National Society of Professional Engineers. Their mission is to promote and enhance the profession and licensed practice of engineering founded in 1936 to serve the interests of the individual engineer in Texas across all branches of engineering. Texas Society of Professional Engineers is the only active, established organization devoting its entire effort to the professional, ethical, economic, social and political aspects of engineering in Texas.

Engineers Week Awards Luncheon – a celebration of the metroplex’s professional engineers and recognizing the difference they make in the world. In partnership with the American Society of Civil Engineers- Dallas Branch, the Society of American Military Engineers - Dallas Post and the Society of Petroleum Engineers- Dallas Section, the luncheon honors 10 distinguished engineers from the metroplex, provides networking opportunities with the largest audience of professional engineers in Texas and raises funds to promote and enhance careers in engineering.
