Lucha Libre 2020: Mascara Workshop


Oak Cliff Cultural Center

Waco artist, Rocío Ramírez, will conduct a Luchador mask-making workshop in conjunction to the Lucha Libre 2020 Art Exhibition, curated by Jose Vargas. (On display from January 11th – February 14th).

Ms. Ramirez was in charge of making the masks for actor Jack Black and his stand-ins worn during the filming of Nacho Libre. Prior to the mascara workshop, Ms. Ramirez will recount her experiences while working on the movie and her interactions with the film stars.

Ms. Rocío Ramírez’s artist talk will begin at 1pm, followed by the workshop at 2pm, on Saturday, January 25th. Workshop space is limited and are only for ages 13+ due to needling work participants will be required to do. Registrations will be on a first come basis, beginning at 1pm prior to the start of the Ms. Ramirez’s presentation.

This event is FREE and OPEN to the public.
