PTSD and ME: A journey told through poetry

Cox Building Playhouse

Erika Renee Land's PTSD and ME is a 45-minute one-woman show that is irresistibly lined with head-bopping rhythms and palpable poetry. The story is about Land’s personal life, military experiences, and her struggles with PTSD. Land uses poetry as a way to express herself. “I felt stuck. My poetry opened a door for me to express my feelings and provided a way to share my story.”

Patrons can expect to leave the raw performance thoroughly entertained, yet with a better understanding of the various symptoms that can lead to the manifestation of PTSD. Land expresses her hopes of an engaging, post-show community conversation so that people will become more aware of the symptoms and be encouraged.

10% of the proceeds from this show will be donated to The Veterans Center of North Texas because they help Veterans and their families to navigate through the network of public and private agencies to obtain assistance, services and support to establish and maintain productive lifestyles within the North Texas communities.
