The Sweatt Dallas Dance Festival is 2-days of masterclasses, youth dance showcase, roundtable discussion, and evening performances.
(ML) SDDF is the annual event formerly known as the South Dallas Dance Festival. The name of the festival has been changed to honor Mary Lois Hudson Sweatt, (1939-2016), who was an integral part of the vision of the SDDF for many years. (ML) SDDF is produced by Beckles Dancing Company in collaboration with Ann Richards STEAM Academy. The goal is to encourage collaborations between area artists and companies and to support each other's growth and impact on the local community.(ML) SDDF seeks to work alongside the larger community to develop the audiences and financial resources necessary to make Southern Dallas a nationally recognized community for the creation, preservation and presentation of dance works
