Dr. André J. Thomas served as the Owen F. Sellers Professor of Music, director of choral activities and professor of choral music education at Florida State University. He is a renowned conductor, composer and author who has conducted honors and all-state choirs around the world. His book, Way Over in Beulah Lan' was written to teach choral conductors how to interpret, teach and perform spirituals.
