The Big Deal: The Best of the Bolshoi: La Sylphide at the Angelika

by Gila Espinoza 17 Jul 2013 8:04 AM

The Angelika Film Center is screening the three-part series The Best of the Bolshoi. Last week we gave away tickets to the first in the series La Bayadere. That film screens this weekend, so you still have the chance to catch it. For this week’s Big Deal four Art&Seek e-newsletter subscribers (sign up here if you’re not a subscriber yet) could win a chance to see the second film in the series, La Sylphide gratis!

La Sylphide (The Sylph) is one of the oldest surviving romantic ballets. This adaptation is based on the younger 1836 version, which was based on an 1832 French ballet. Hum, elegant French ballet, performed by the Bolshoi Ballet known for its athleticism and bold staging, and presented in the comfy and stylish setting of the Angelika Film Center. Who’s in? I thought so. We have two pair of tickets for the screening on July 28 at 2 p.m. for both the Dallas and Plano Angelika Film Center locations.

We have our winners!
