Chris Thile, formerly of Nickel Creek, instigated the collaboration that has become The Punch Brothers, a group of bluegrass musicians who take the form in lots of different directions. Lately, you may have heard their work on the soundtrack for the Judd Apatow movie This is 40. Or perhaps you’ve heard their latest EP, Ahoy, which came out in November.
You can definitely hear the five-piece group at the Granada Theater on Jan. 27. And two lucky Big Deal winners will receive a pair of standing room tickets to do just that.
