The Big Deal: National Theatre of London’s ‘The Audience’ at the Angelika

by Gila Espinoza 19 Jun 2013 7:52 AM

Do you catch every program Helen Mirren is in? Then you won’t want to miss out on this Big Deal: free admission for two to National Theatre of London’s NT Live: The Audience playing at both Angelika Film Centers. Tickets are valid for opening night on June 27 at the Angelika at Mockingbird Station, and June 30 at the Angelika Film Center at The Shops at Legacy in Plano.

National Theatre of London’s NT Live is the best of live British theater that is then broadcast to local theaters. In this National Theatre production, Helen Mirren reprises her role as Queen Elizabeth II. Since ascending the throne, the Queen has given a private weekly audience to each of her 12 Prime Ministers since Winston Churchill. And in the play, we get a glimpse of how some pivotal meetings might have played out as imagined by playwright Peter Morgan.

Last week we pulled several potential winners’ names, but unfortunately they were not subscribers. Sign up for the Art&Seek e-newsletter here first, then sign up for this Big Deal and our other offerings this week – tickets to Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra’s Concerts in the Garden: Broadway A-Z: ABBA to Les Mis or and tickets to see The Tenors presented by AT&T Performing Arts Center.
