Lauryn Hill was the female member of the 1990s hip hop group, the Fugees. Her solo debut album “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” (1998) garnered an amazing five Grammy awards for the New Jersey native. Soon after, Ms. Hill kept a relatively low profile. However, in just the last few years she has been more visible. Last year Ms. Hill made a major contribution to the album, Nina Revisited: A Tribute to Nina Simone, the accompanying album to the documentary about singer and civil rights activist, Nina Simone. Next month, Ms. Lauryn Hill will make a rare concert appearance in our area. Enter to win tickets to see the singer/rapper perform at The Bomb Factory in Deep Ellum on May 4.

You might also want to take the time now to peruse and sign up for our other Big Deals. Enter for a chance to see the duo Black Violin at The Kessler Theater in Oak Cliff, or to see Freakonomics’ Stephen Dubner with Faith Salie at the AT&T Performing Arts Center.

Please note: Only Art&Seek newsletter subscribers are eligible for the Big Deal. If you’re not yet receiving our weekly emails then you’re missing out! You’ll want to take care of that first here, then enter your information below for the opportunity to catch Ms. Lauryn Hill.
