The Big Deal: KXT Sun Sets With Fantastic Negrito And Gaston Light

by Francesca Paris 20 Jul 2016 8:30 AM

For next month’s KXT’s Sun Sets concert, Fantastic Negrito and Gaston Light will take take the stage on the rooftop of Dallas Power & Light. Check out the Tiny Desk Concert video below to see the Oakland musician blends “blues with a punk attitude.”  His latest album, The Last Days of Oakland, is the story of a survivor, a Somali-Carribean immigrant who earned a major-label contract, then nearly died in a car crash and returns to the music scene with passion that “drips from every hook, riff, beat, clap, croon and howl on the album,” according to NPR.  Dallas-based Gaston Light opens the night with some rock ‘n’ roll for the August 4 show. FYI, the last one in the concert series.

And make sure to take the time now to peruse our other Big Deal this week. Enter for a chance to see WaterTower Theatre’s  regional premiere of “One Man, Two Guvnors.”
