‘Indigenous Beauty: Masterworks of American Indian Art from the Diker Collection,’ recently opened at the Amon Carter Museum of  American Art. The 122 art pieces were selected from New York collectors Charles and Valerie Diker’s private collection. Last week on THINK, Jerome Weeks talked to the exhibition’s curator, David Penney.  The artifacts compiled for the show represent diverse Native American tribes and regions, and are a testament to the beauty, diversity and significance of the culture. Visit the Amon Carter Museum now through Sept. 13 and see how crafted pieces made hundreds of years ago stand up to today’s precision, machine-made products. But before you head to the Amon Carter be sure to sign up for this week’s Big Deal, Indigenous Beauty: Masterworks of American Indian Art from the Diker Collection, the 276-page, hardcover companion book.

Don’t forget to take the time now to go ahead and sign up for our other offerings this week, tickets to see Sweet Charity at WaterTower Theatre, or tickets to Garden Gigs at the Dallas Arboretum.
