BD Liszt 348x600 event postThe American Liszt Society Annual Festival is typically held at a university, library or music organization across the country. This year’s festival will be hosted by the University of North Texas College of Music, Sept. 16-18. The theme for 2015, Liszt and Damnation, explores the dark and death-obsessed side of the Hungarian composer.

The conference and festival will feature multiple lectures and events with each day culminating in one main concert at the Murchison Performing Arts Center on the Denton campus. Thursday’s concert will be a memorial concert in honor of the late Thomas Mastroianni, former president of the American Liszt Society. Some performers include the past winners of the LA International Liszt Competition, the UNT Symphony Orchestra, and UNT faculty. Win this Big Deal and you and a guest can attend any of the lecture-recitals, or concerts during the three day event.
