Giveaway: Passes To ‘Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom’

by Stephen Becker 5 Dec 2013 11:08 AM

If you’ve heard of Idris Elba, it’s most likely from his stint playing the street-smart drug dealer Stringer Bell on The Wire. Or you may have caught him fighting an army of sea creatures in this summer’s Pacific Rim. Tough characters, both. But this month, he plays a guy tougher than both of those guys combined: Nelson Mandela.

In Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Elba plays the future South African president as he battles the country’s oppressive policy of apartheid – a battle that landed him in prison for 27 years. The movie opens on Christmas Day locally, but why wait ’til then if you don’t have to?

We’ve got passes for a free, advance screening at 7 p.m. on Dec. 11 at the Angelika Film Center in Dallas. All you have to do is download a pass and get there early – these things are first come, first served and always fill up.

Be sure to circle back here if you go and let us know how it is.
