On Friday, Beginners opens at the Magnolia Theatre in Dallas. The film was one of the talks of the South by Southwest Film Conference after making its U.S. premiere there in March. In it, Hal (Christopher Plummer) comes out to his son, Oliver (Ewan McGregor), at the age of 75 after his wife passes away. The father-son relationship is turned on its head as dad makes up for lost time and embraces his new identity.
