SXSW Music: A Band From All Over The World

by Anne Bothwell 16 Mar 2018 3:00 AM

More than a thousand music acts are performing this week during South by Southwest. Amy Miller is Program Director for KERA’s sister station, KXT 91.7. She’s in Austin and she talked to me

Tune in to KXT 91.7 Friday from noon to 6 for a live broadcast from South By Southwest

about who she’s seen, who she looks forward to, and how North Texas acts are faring this week.

One of the first groups she saw is a band called Superorganism, an eight-piece band that formed last year. They are literally from all over the world – Japan, New Zealand, South Korea. They met online and now live together in London. Their self-titled album was just released a couple weeks ago.

You can click above to hear our conversation – and a bit of music from the acts we discussed. And don’t forget to tune into KXT 91.7 tomorrow from noon to 6 p.m. Amy is joining DJs from public radio stations around the country to broadcast some of the hottest acts live from South by Southwest. Featured bands include Sunflower Bean, Lo Moon, Natalie Prass, Melat, and The Shacks.
