Congratulations to Robin Jean Washburn of Dallas, the winner of the Flickr Photo of the Week contest. Robin has won a little contest multiple times. Her last win was in January. She follows last week’s winner Syed Kamal of Sherman.

If you would like to participate in the Flickr Photo of the Week contest, all you need to do is upload your photo to our Flickr group page. It’s fine to submit a photo you took earlier than the current week, but we are hoping that the contest will inspire you to go out and shoot something fantastic this week to share with Art&Seek users. If the picture you take involves a facet of the arts, even better. The contest week will run from Tuesday to Monday, and the Art&Seek staff will pick a winner on Friday afternoon. We’ll notify the winner through FlickrMail (so be sure to check those inboxes) and ask you to fill out a short survey to tell us a little more about yourself and the photo you took. We’ll post the winners’ photo on Tuesday.

Now here’s more from Robin Jean.

Title of Photo: “JFK”

Equipment: Nikon D750 equipped with a Sigma 15mm f2.8 EX DG Elliptical Fisheye

Tell us more about your photo: I was photowalking downtown Dallas with friend Don “The Birdman,” a street photographer. I was hoping some of his street skills would rub off on me. Well, that didn’t happen.

We passed the JFK memorial. I’ve lived around here most of my adult life and had never been in, so we went. I didn’t see any other image to make inside, and the sky was just lovely, so I mounted the fisheye lens and made this image. EXIF is 1/800th, f8. Postprocess with PS CS6.

  • Congratulations Robin on Art&Seek Photo of the Week. What a great capture. I remember the beautiful clouds of that day and discussing how to share the size of the JFK Memorial visually and you did it so masterfully. Again congratulations my friend 🙂
