Congratulations to, Robert Moore of Dallas, the winner of the Flickr Photo of the Week contest. Robert is a first-time winner of our contest. He follows last week’s winner,  Michael Hogan of North Richland Hills.

If you would like to participate in the Flickr Photo of the Week contest, all you need to do is upload your photo to our Flickr group page. It’s fine to submit a photo you took earlier than the current week, but we are hoping that the contest will inspire you to go out and shoot something fantastic this week to share with Art&Seek users. If the picture you take involves a facet of the arts, even better. The contest week will run from Tuesday to Monday, and the Art&Seek staff will pick a winner on Friday afternoon. We’ll notify the winner through FlickrMail (so be sure to check those inboxes) and ask you to fill out a short survey to tell us a little more about yourself and the photo you took. We’ll post the winners’ photo on Tuesday.

Title of photo: “Elvis Rides Again”

Equipment: Leica M240, Summicron 35 ASPH

Tell us more about your photo:  The Elvii are always a popular contingent in the State Fair of Texas Opening Day Parade through downtown Dallas.  I looked for a spot without any spectators on the opposite curb and hoped to get a solo Elvii shot. Right when I found the spot, the motorcycle cop parks just inside the frame and pulls out his phone to get his own pic of an Elvii doing a wheelie. It’s the cop in the background that makes this pic. The bulk of my work is international street photography, most recently Iran, Colombia and Guatemala. This pic reminds me there are plenty of fun subjects to shoot right here at home.
