This year marks the 28th Annual Dallas VideoFest. The week long festival will present the latest multi-media works at various venues throughout Dallas, starting tonight at the Texas Theatre. Looking at the schedule of almost 125 screenings and events  it will be difficult to decide which events to attend.  One event you want to make sure you add to your calendar is the special presentation of the 1927 film, “Metropolis” on Tuesday at Dallas City Performance Hall.  It will be the opening act for both this year’s VideoFest and the Dallas Chamber Symphony’s season. The DCS will accompany the silent film classic with a new live score. A surprising dance component will also be part of the collaborative project.  Our Big Screen team talked to Christopher Dolder, with the Division of Dance at SMU Meadows School of the Arts, about the challenges of choreographing to a movie. To hear the conversation stream or download the Big Screen podcast. You can also get a sneak peek of the performance on the Dallas Chamber Symphony’s Facebook page.
