by Therese Powell 31 Mar 2015 8:30 AM

Check out the Junior’s basket-full of fun for your little bunnies.

CTA TBD

Art&Seek Jr. is one mom‘s quest to find activities to end the seemingly endless chorus of the “I’m Bored Blues” while having fun herself.  Impossible you say? Check back on Tuesdays for kid-friendly events that are fun for adults, too.

We’re in the home stretch with rabbit season–Easter Rabbit, that is.  Before that wascally wabbit goes into hiding for another year enjoy one of these family friendly events with your little bunny.

Denton area teens who love a good a good egg hunt should head to Denia Recreation Center in Wednesday night for a Teen Twilight Egg Hunt. Better than chocolate eggs, they’ll be hunting (by flashlight) for eggs filled with cash, coupons, and gift cards. Score!

Hold on there, the Easter Bunny isn’t done with Denton yet. Get up early Saturday morning and head to the Denton Civic Center for the super-duper Easter Eggstravaganza and Annual City Egg Hunt. There will be a bounce house, tons of arts and crafts, and a magic show. At 11:30 a.m. the Egg Hunt begins and kiddos can hunt for over 21,000 filled eggs. Children will be divided into groups based on age and grades, so be sure to  arrive early to find your designated group.

More than a few baskets will feature the marshmallow-esque Peeps this Easter. You and your little chickens can whip up a homemade version and other goodies at the Easter Treats and Peeps cooking workshop. Besides making the confectionery treats, you and your child will learn basic cooking techniques like mixing, folding, piping and decorating in this hands on class. The fun happens Saturday afternoon at 1 at Central Market in Southlake.

Everybody say Yippee Ki Yay! the Texas sized Easter Egg Hunt at Fort Worth Stockyards Station happens this Saturday. There will be an ginormous egg hunt for all ages that begins at noon, and afterwards there will be photos with the Easter Bunny, face painting, a balloon-animal maker and more. For even more fun, be sure to take the kids to the Stockyard Stables to hunt for the Golden Horseshoe.

Speaking of egg hunts, here’s one that’s definitely EGG-ceptional. Instead of looking for the eggs in the grass, look for them to fall from the sky! That’s right, Prestonwood Baptist Church is holding a Helicopter Egg Drop at Franklin Stadium at Hillcrest High School. Besides the hundreds of candy eggs falling from a helicopter, there will also be inflatables, face painting, and food trucks to enjoy.

If you haven’t any plans for Sunday, then a ride aboard the Easter Bunny Train on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad might be just the ticket. Besides a super-fun train ride, the little kiddles can expect an appearance by the rabbit de jour, and afterwards there will be an egg hunt with eggs filled with prizes.
