Meryl Streep picked up her 19th Oscar nomination for playing the Witch in the musical Into the Woods. The show is a favorite of Fort Worth Opera General Director Darren K. Woods – he’s staging it this summer. This week, we get his thoughts on Streep’s performance and about casting the show in her shadow.
“Her performance has given me pause in how I’m casting it coming up,” he says. “Now the expectations of the audience are going to be colored by Meryl Streep’s performance.”
