Kitchen Dog and Performing Arts Fort Worth show off their upcoming seasons. And a Fort Worth collection hits the auction blocks.

CTA TBD

KITCHEN DOG’S SEASON: Kitchen Dog Theater has announced its 2013-14 season. Things get rolling Sept. 27 with the regional premiere of Detroit, winner of the 2013 Obie Award for Best New American Play. That’s followed by another regional premiere – David Mamet’s Race – on Nov. 15. The regional premiere parade continues in February with The [expletive] With the Hat, the show that brought Chris Rock to Broadway a few years back. And wrapping things up are the regional premiere of Gidion’s Knot in March and the New Works Festival in May.

PERFORMING ARTS SEASON: While we’re talking new seasons, Performing Arts Fort Worth has also released its upcoming season. There are too many shows to run through all of them here, but there are plenty of highlights. Among them: Philip Glass on Oct. 29, a one-night-only performance of American Idiot on March 19 and the return of the ever-popular Jersey Boys in June. Ghost: The Musical also swing through in February. The whole season is up at dfw.com.

PIECES OF HISTORY: Longtime Fort Worth arts patrons might recognize the name Ruth Wilkins Sullivan. She was an author, historian and curator. And she was one of the early members of the Kimbell Art Museum’s staff. As a curator there, she also amassed an impressive collection. And many of those items are going up for auction later this month through New Orleans Auction Galleries. You can take a look at some of the items here.
