Once again, Art&Seek's intrepid reporter/producer snags a Texas AP Broadcasters award.

CTA TBD

jwHuzzah for Jerome Weeks! He won a first place from the Texas AP Broadcasters for “Use of Actuality/Production” in their 2012-2013 awards.

This award recognizes how radio reporters use sound to move listeners through a story. The piece that caught the judges” attention describes how technicians tested and tweaked the acoustics at the then-new City Performance Hall. Hint: it involved popping balloons.

This is Jerome”s second Texas AP Broadcasters award. Last year, he was recognized for specialty beat reporting.

All told, KERA took home six awards:

First Place: Shelley Kofler, feature (light), “Fossil Hunter and his 95-Million-Year-Old Bird, Land at Perot Museum”

Second Place: Shelley Kofler, special series,

Second Place: KERA news team, spot news by a station, tornado coverage

Honorable Mention: Bill Zeeble, specialty or beat reporting.

Honorable Mention: Courtney Collins, feature (serious), “For Cancer “Previvors”, Knowledge is Power”
