City Performance Hall
“… a guaranteed hoot for people who know nothing of ballet and an absolute must for those who think they know the originals.” (The Sydney Star Observer)
Always hilarious, and always a TITAS favorite – the Tocks are back! Founded in 1974 by a group of ballet enthusiasts for the purpose of presenting a playful, entertaining view of traditional, classical ballet in parody form and en travesti, Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo has established itself as a major dance phenomenon throughout the world. Their comedy is achieved by incorporating and exaggerating the foibles, accidents, and underlying incongruities of serious dance. The fact that men dance all the parts – heavy bodies delicately balancing on toes as swans, sylphs, water sprites, romantic princesses, or angst-ridden Victorian ladies – enhances, rather than mocks, the spirit of dance as an art form, delighting and amusing the most knowledgeable, as well as the novices in the audiences.

Performed on a huge curved floor, Scattered uses stunning projection technology to create a special world in which the dancers move in, on and through the images. A must see event for the entire family.

Morris has changed the way audiences see modern dance. The Washington Post observed, “Morris’s ability to surmount musical difficulties that would flummox most anyone else is awe-inspiring.” The company of exuberant dancers lives up to its reputation of wit, grace, with a refined musicality that is further reinforced by Morris’s use of live musicians for every performance.
