Afternoon Delight: Ghostly, Beautiful, Empty Places

by Jerome Weeks 1 May 2013 12:59 PM

A photo gallery of some of the more haunting locations on this planet: an empty hotel on a foggy mountain, an abandoned train depot, a rotting rocket factory.

CTA TBD

Afternoon Delight is a daily diversion for when you’re just back from lunch, but not quite ready to get down to work. Check back weekdays at 1 p.m. for another one.

Wassup? Hey! It’s not a video! Yeah, I know. A change. But a worthy one. It’s a gallery of thirty of the most haunting, abandoned structures on our planet. By the way, #9, the ghost town near Chernobyl, is used as a location in the game Call of Duty: Black Ops. And these places are not all foreign, ends-of-the-earth kinds of locations. #19? I worked near that, been inside it.

So go here and prepare to be awed.
