Art&Seek Jr. is one mom‘s quest to find activities to end the seemingly endless chorus of the “I’m Bored Blues” while having fun herself.  Impossible you say? Check back on Tuesdays for kid-friendly events that are fun for adults, too.

Last weekend was sort of a bust for egg hunts. There was rain on Saturday followed by an arctic blast on Sunday. Sadly, the weather is looking like it’s not going to cooperate much better this weekend, as rain is in the forecast right up until Monday. But hey, this is Texas, and when it comes to the weather, you’ve got to be prepared to punt and go with plan B. So put on your rain boots and head out to these egg hunts that may or may not include a shower or two:

There’s no rain in the forecast for Wednesday, but it will be chilly. Those of you with special needs kids will want to grab a sweater for your little bunnies and hop on over to Flagpole Hill. The AT&T Pioneers will host their 26th annual egg hunt for special needs kids from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This free event will include Easter egg hunts, face painting, storytelling, a visit from Sparky the Fire Dog and more. The egg hunt will feature beeping eggs for visually impaired children and  encourages all kids to enjoy the hunt at their own pace.

If you don’t mind dodging a few rain drops (contrary to popular belief, children are not made of sugar), then check out the Texas sized Easter Egg Celebration at the Fort Worth Stockyards on Saturday. There will be an Easter egg hunt for all ages that begins at noon, and afterwards there will be photos with the Easter Bunny, face painting, a balloon-animal maker and more. If you really want to laugh in the face of mother nature, be sure to stay late and catch the Fort Worth herd cattle drive. It starts at 4 p.m.

Indoor hunts are always a safe bet if you’re stressed about the weather. Check out LEGOLAND Discovery Center Dallas/Fort Worth this weekend for its Bricks & Bunnies event. Activities include an egg hunt throughout the center with fun prizes as well as Easter-themed model builder workshops. The egg hunts will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m on Sunday.

Another great plan B option for Sunday is a ride aboard the Easter Bunny Fun Train on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad. Besides a super-fun train ride, the little kiddles can expect an appearance by the rabbit de jour, an egg hunt with eggs filled with prizes and special surprises on board.
