Free Wristbands Tomorrow for Klyde Warren Park "Concert For Dallas"

Tomorrow at 10 a.m., Klyde Warren Park is giving away free wristbands to its opening concert, featuring the Polyphonic Spree, Trombone Shorty and DJ Lucy Wrubel on Sat. Oct. 27 at 7 p.m.

You’ll have to jump through a few hoops to get them:

To obtain these complimentary wristbands, go to www.klydewarrenpark.org and click on the “Get Tickets” button in the upper right hand corner. From there you will be directed to a registration page. Simply fill out the form and submit your order. Once you have completed this process, a confirmation page will be seen on screen and will be emailed to you. Simply print out this confirmation and take to participating Chase bank and Albertsons supermarket locations, while supplies last. There you will be given your wristbands.

Six thousand wristbands will be given away for the event.  Only folks with wristbands will get in to see the concert on opening night.

If you don’t get them and want to check out the new deck park linking the Arts District to Uptown, don’t fret.  There will be entertainment in the park all weekend, including a DSO performance and a concert by Bob Schneider and Jimmy LaFave that will also be free, no wristband required.

DALLAS (October 8, 2012) – Approximately 6,000 free general admission wristbands will be made available at 10 a.m. CST tomorrow (Oct. 9)to The Concert for Dallas Presented by Deloitte, the signature music festival highlighting the Klyde Warren Park Grand Opening Celebration Presented by Chase and J.P. Morgan. The show, slated for Saturday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. in Klyde Warren Park, features performances by Grammy-nominated Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue and Dallas indie rock icons, The Polyphonic Spree. DJ Lucy Wrubel will also perform.

The evening will culminate in a fireworks show presented by Oncor.

Wristbands serve as tickets to The Concert for Dallas. No one will be admitted without a wristband. The rest of Grand Opening weekend will be free and open to the public, and will not require wristbands.

A limited number of reserved section passes are also available for the show. “The Concert for Dallas: Party in the Park” passes include access to a hospitality area featuring a variety of foods provided by leading area restaurants, drinks, valet parking and a membership to Friends of the Park.These packages are available for $200 each on the Park’s website, www.klydewarrenpark.org. Proceeds support Klyde Warren Park and the Klyde WarrenPark Grand Opening Celebration Presented by Chase and J.P. Morgan.

Food sponsors include: Bread Winners Café & Bakery, Bandito’s Tex Mex Cantina, The Capital Grille, Dee Lincoln’s Dining Room & Bubble Bar, Katy Trail Ice House, Kelly’s at the Village, Original Cupcakery, Place at Perry’s, Potbelly Sandwich Shop and The Common Table. Other highlights of the two-day Grand Opening, which will spread across the Park’s 5.2 acres and adjacent Arts District, include a dedication ceremony, an outdoor performance by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and a sneak peek at the Park’s ongoing programming, a Sunday concert featuring Jimmy LaFave and Bob Schneider, and a movie night. The opening will coincide with the final weekend of Art in October, the annual celebration of the Arts District.

Film actor and Dallas native Owen Wilson serves as the event’s Honorary Chair.
