Amazing what you can find by accident on Youtube. So… How about something by Robert Petway or Blind Willie McTell. And speaking of Blind Willie McTell, Tom Russell and Barrence Whitfield did a song by that name on an excellent CD called Hillbilly Voodoo. Unfortunately I can’t find it available for download but I’m going to grab one of the 7 used copys on Amazon.

What is the name of the song before Cat power? They said the singer was Nickie Lee. Google has been worthless with just “Nickie Lee” search.

Find a recording of Laurence Olivier singing a song in the movie musical “The Beggar’s Opera” and I will be impressed.

  • Alexander Collins

Great show tonight! I’d enjoy hearing Serpentine Fire by Earth, Wind & Fire or maybe Bumpity Bump by Adrian Belew on the next show if you don’t mind.

    WIKI:

“Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head” is B. J. Thomas’s #1 song, written by Hal David and Burt Bacharach for the 1969 film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.[2] It won an Academy Award for Best Original Song.[2] David and Bacharach also won Best Original Score.
It was recorded in seven takes, after Bacharach expressed
dissatisfaction with the first six. In the film version of the song, B.
    J. Thomas had been recovering from laryngitis, which made his voice
sound hoarser than in the 7″ release. The film version featured a
separate instrumental break when Paul Newman undertook stunts on a bicycle.
