Frankie Garcia III, a local artist who works with Dallas’ Rising Gallery, has gone missing.

Garcia

Garcia helped to install the gallery’s current show, “Project 7X7,” but hasn’t been seen since May 31, the day before the show opened. That night, Garcia was with Rising Gallery’s Bryan Wetz and Taber Wetz at an event held at an apartment complex at 400 N. Ervay that Rising provides art to. Bryan Wetz says that Garcia got a ride from the event about 10 p.m. from a woman, who told Wetz that she dropped Garcia off at the gallery. No one has seen him since.

Wetz says that Garcia has been known to disappear for a few days, but that this is “very unusual.”

“For him to miss an event that he’s putting on is really unusual,” Wetz said Thursday afternoon when reached by phone at the gallery. “And the usual suspects – the people we’d normally turn to to say, ‘Where is he?’ if he was to be gone for a day or two, they don’t know where he is.

“If he’s gone, it’s usually him out working or doing whatever he’s doing and then he shows up. It never gets to a point where it would even require a missing persons report or anything like that.”

If you’ve seen Garcia or have information about his disappearance, you can contact Rising at 214.559.4158 or the Dallas Police Department’s missing person’s squad (214.671.4243). Wetz says that any updates will be posted on Rising’s Facebook page.
