Today in the roundup: Theatre Three’s new season, Holi in pictures and how corporations assemble an art collection.

THEATRE THREE’S NEW SEASON: Theatre Three has announced its 2012-13 season. As Jerome previously reported, the first professional staging locally of Avenue Q is one of the highlights. Also on the schdule are a new musical about Elvis fans called Idols of the King and the Texas-centric Enron. The full season is available at dallasnews.com.

HOLY HOLI: A confession – before last week, I’d never heard of Holi, the Hindu Festival of Colors. But after posting a cool video that details a celebration of it on Art&Seeek, I’m kinda hooked. Which bums me out that I missed a big celebration of it in Denton on Friday. If you missed it, too, be sure to check out a slide show of all the colorful action.

CORPORATE ART: We’ve all been in fancy high-rise office buildings and checked out the art in the lobby while waiting for an appointment. But how does that art get there? In many cases, through an art advisor. The advisor works with high-powered business types to select art that fits their personalities and the image that they would like their firms to project. Jean Efron is one of those advisors. And she writes in an essay on nytimes.com that  “Organizations that buy art are investing in themselves — and in more than a monetary sense.”
