Wednesday Morning Roundup
by Stephen Becker 29 Feb 2012

Today in the roundup: The future of the Arts Center of North Texas, local music bits and previewing Out of the Loop.

CTA TBD

DIVIDING THE ESTATE: The much-maligned Arts Center of North Texas may not be dead yet, but it’s certainly on life support. The latest is that attorneys from Allen, Plano and Frisco are scheduled to meet later this week to figure out how to divide up the project’s assets. And Plano will ask its voters next year if they want to revoke the city’s ability to sell bonds for the project. “It looks like this thing is just not going to go anywhere in the foreseeable future,” Plano Mayor Phil Dyer tells dallasnews.com.

MUSIC BITS: St. Vincent talks to The Guardian about the soundtrack of her life. (guardian.co.uk) … Fort Worth’s Live Oak Music Hall will open May 18. (dfw.com) … Erykah Badu’s concert scheduled for today in Malaysia was canceled over some temporary tattoos. (DC9 at Night)

QUOTABLE: “I want to speak to the heart of women who are often primary caregivers: I want to give both men and women an enjoyable entertainment as well as hope that the best in life is yet to come!”

– Diana Sheehan, on what to expect from her one-woman cabaret show, Midway, at the Out of the Loop Festival. She talks more about the show with theaterjones.com.
