Despite exceptional reviews (notably in the NYTimes, still pretty much the only one that matters there) — and yes, some negative notices, too — the basketball musical, Lysistrata Jones, which started at the Dallas Theater Center as Give It Up! will close after the January 8th matinee, this Sunday. That’s after two months of weak sales but a strong run off-Broadway.

Dallas Theater Center company member Liz Mikel was the only North Texas actor to appear in all three productions. Perhaps she’ll be coming home now ….
