Stocking Stuffer #3: Idol Records Christmas (MP3)
by Cindy Chaffin 14 Dec 2011

Idol Records’ holiday offering comes just in the jolly ol’ St. Nick of time, in the form of a great compilation CD, Idol Records Christmas, an Idol Records Christmas Collection

One of our favorite things about this time of year are newly-released holiday tracks by North Texas bands and artists. We want to share the joy and the music, so keep checking back this month for free downloads. You can impress your friends and family with your own fresh-cut holiday music compilation.

If you haven’t already, please check out the first tracks: the band Seryn singing Silver Bells here, plus a couple of tunes from John Dufilho over here.

Idol Records‘ holiday offering comes just in the jolly ol’ St. Nick of time, in the form of a great compilation CD, the Idol Records Christmas Collection. The eclectic album is chock full of great holiday songs — all original ones written and performed by some of North Texas’ finest bands and musicians. Art&Seek Stocking Stuffer #3 comes with the following three tracks from the album.

El Cento is a project started by Don Cento (Shibboleth, Chomksy), drummer Earl Darling (Spot, Jackopierce, Bill Longhorse) and bassist Dave Prez (Mildred, Fever in the Funkhouse, Naked Lunch, Local Honey) round out this trio.

Toby Pipes (Deep Blue Something, Bass Propulsion Laboratories) is a producer, musician, vocalist and one of the most well-known names in the local, regional and national music scenes. Pipes and his co-writer/producer, Nolan Thies (The Hundred Inevitables, The Backsliders) formed Little Black Dress back in 2005. The band also includes Brent Elrod (guitars), Earl Darling (drums), Cooper Heffley (electric drums and keys) and Taylor Tasch (guitars).
