    Baby Atlas is rockin’ it!

  • Patty

Paul, David Carroll’s family here in St. Thomas just heard Baby Atlas! Thanks!! We love it!!

  • Russell

Baby Atlas: good stuff. Suggestive echoes of the Allman Brothers ca. a long, long time ago. Wunnerful playlist tonight all the way ’round.

  • Thom Lake

    Hey Paul,
My station stays on 91.7 now. Thanks for the great music.

I like songs that pull you in on the first notes, like Nina Simone’s, ‘Sinnerman’

    I have a few suggestions:
    Patty Griffin – ‘Making Pies’
    Neko Case – ‘The Pharaohs’
Patti Smith – ‘Glitter in Their Eyes’
(anything by Patti, besides ‘Because the Night’)

    Couple of others:
Love Alive Trilogy off of Heart’s Little Queen
    ‘Love Alive’
    ‘Sylvan Song’
    ‘Dream of the Archer’

    and

no one ever plays this group:
    New Model Army
Favorite Album: The Love of Hopeless Causes
Favorite Songs: ‘Here Comes the War’ and ‘These Words’

  • Paul Slavens

    Thanks for the suggestions, Thom.
Nice to hear all the Baby Atlas love.

  • Emily Chastain

I hear My Wooden Leg has a new single about a Schmuck. Would you be so kind Mr. Slavens?

  • Russell

The genius of Ian Anderson is always appreciated … Homerian Jethro Tull is good. Have you considered Trout Fishing in America? Blind Lemon Jefferson? Spot? I’m sure you have …

  • Earlimart – The Hidden Track
Frank Black – Song of the Shrimp
Future Islands – Inch of Dust
    High Violets – Chinese Letter

  • Thom

Jethro Tull puts on a good show, too.

  • Paul Slavens

Thanks to you my friends for all communications

  • Mavs by 12 in the 4th, Paul providing the soundtrack. All while editing a video about butchering chickens… Ain’t life sweet!

  • Paul Slavens

Bill, you are a renaissance man.

  • Misterightbrain

Wondering if you’d published your playlist from last week’s broadcast – specifically the track playing at about 9:25. Thanks.

  • Aloha Paul,

How about “Matisyahu” Live at Stubbs, Chop em Down?

    Enjoying your program.

    Mahalo Nui,
    GH

  • Paul Slavens

Way to go Mavs. And thanks for stopping by and for the nice thoughts and suggestions. Cheers !

  • Thom

    ‘When Will I Be Loved’
Never heard that version before. Awesome.

Have you ever heard Ryan Adams’ version of ‘Brown Sugar’?

  • Too many favs on tonight’s show to count, but was really thankful for the Battles track. They are still probably one of my favorite current avant-rock outfits around.

Personal favorite on that rather obscure Talking Heads track. I dug it back up recently, too. Great minds…..
