Tuesday Morning Roundup

by Stephen Becker 22 Mar 2011 7:58 AM

Today in the roundup: A UNT painting professor shows new work, 24 Hour Video Race turns 10 and Mo Rocca tweets.

CTA TBD

THE PAINTING PROFESSOR: By day, Robert Jessup teaches painting to the next generation of artists at the University of North Texas. But that hasn’t kept him from doing a little painting of his own. His work can currently be seen at Conduit Gallery in Dallas. And he talks about it with the Art This Week crew in a new video interview. If you want to check out his Conduit show, make like the wind – it’s only up through Saturday. Need a little more incentive? Check out this recent Star-Telegram feature.

FILM ON THE FLY: The 24 Hour Video Race turns 10 this year. In honor of the milestone, the Dallas Videofest website will be counting down the best 10 videos the race has produced.

MORE WITH MO: Did you catch Mo Rocca last night at the Eisemann Center? He was in town for Arts & Letters Live. If you didn’t make it to Richardson, you can still catch a little of the comedian’s trademark wit. The Dallas Museum of Art’s Uncrated Blog asked him a few questions on Twitter and posted the responses. Click through to find out why he wants to eat Chinese food with Barbra Streisand.
