I am here and ready to hear your groovy suggestions.

How about Used to Be by Beach House: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OK_eK_cuKI

  • Robin

We have a breeze blowing through the place and listening to the most perfect music. How did you know?

  • paul slavens

I will check that beach house for next week, danke

I think I was sensing your vibe Robin, nice to know you are out there enjoying it.

  • Saw a personal favorite band at SXSW that I never thought I’d see: LITE from Japan. Their song “Image Game” was totally devastating live.

Their cerebral instrumental freakouts might fit into your program.

  • Hey Paul, Fantastic show so far. You do put on some of the Best! Have wanted to obtain your playlist from Feb 20 2011 will that ever be posted? Thanks for the Great music, wish I had some suggestions but I cant top this stuff! Take care.

  • paul slavens

    Far out
I will check it out for show.

  • Wow, did’nt see that one coming! My wife almost fell over hearing Ides of march. Everyone step aside, Paul is driving the bus…The Big Bus!

  • Glad to hear you playing some M83 tonight! I tried posting a comment seconding the request and suggesting a few songs by them last week (including this one) but I don’t think it showed up.

Here’s an artist I keep forgetting to suggest: Odd Nosdam.
I’d like to hear either his song “Root Bark” or “One For Dallas” from his soundtrack to a skateboarding DVD called T.I.M.E.

yeah, I am somewhat lazy about posting my playlists on the kxt page, I have been reprimanded, I will get em up to date when I get home tonite. They always show up at the end of the show at the top of the blog. I am not allowed to post them before the show is over.
Thanks for the nice words and groovy suggestions, keep em coming.

  • Cool! Thanks tpowell.I.ve got to admit, I.m a bit of an old dude and have never done the Blog thing before, it’s proving to be Allright.

  • Russell

Dr. Johnny Fever played the stuff we’d heard before.

You play the stuff we wish we’d heard before.

    Thank you.

  • Peggy

Thanks for the Jennifer Warnes. I did not know about this.

  • Aaronious

Thanks for playing what others do not.
How about some greatness from Greg Dulli, and Mark Lanagen…?
    -soulsavers
    -twilight singers.
I listen as much as possible, but have not heard those played here yet. Thanks again Paul!

  • Kirsten

How about Xavier Rudd~Stargaze. An amazingly talented artist who deserves more airtime on awesome radio shows like this one 🙂

  • paul slavens

Isnt it great finding out about great little treasures like this?

  • Aaronious

Kinda late, but I never had a chance to tell anyone, or you how much I liked your halloween special! The twilight singers are gonna be @ the Granada on May 30th. I can wait, but I can’t wait!!!!!

  • hi, i suggest you play some nite jewel.

  • Another request before I forget. You haven’t played any The Go! Team in a while, and they put out a new album recently called Rolling Blackouts. Here’s the video for one of my favorites from the album “Apollo Throwdown”. It has a link to buy on Amazon and iTunes in the description.

  • I’d love to hear “Restless” by James McMurtry – who will be playing at the Sons on April 15! Love the show, keep the great tunes coming. I also second the request for Mark Lanagan – how about something from “Whiskey for the Holy Ghost”

  • P.S. I never realized that Mel Tormé ruled so much!

  • Regan

Ralph White (formerly of Bad Livers.
    Steel Pole Bathtub- Home i

  • Shalyn

Have you ever played anything off of Anais Mitchell’s “Hadestown” folk opera? I find myself listening to it obsessively. I love the opera and really like the more contemporary works in different musical genres.

  • paul slavens

thanks so much for the great ideas and interaction
    see you next sunday night!!

  • TomH

Great treasures. Thanks Paul. Even in AR I am connected to north Texas. Thanks.

  • I heard an interesting song the other night. The artist’s name is Camille and the song in French is “Ta Douleur”(Your Pain). She has a very different sound and uses her vocals and body as percussion or for rhythm.

  • P.S.S. Thanks for playing those Howard Hanson / Eastman-Rochester Orchestra and Gil Scott-Heron / Jamie XX tracks. I’ll be looking into those groups soon!

  • Garrett Raney

Just discovered this at a free SXSW show. This song really captured me and everyone in the audience.

Everybody loves everybody these days. That’d be nice.
