  • Les Connally

We’re here, listening! Just got nuthin to suggest right now!/ shrug/

  • Brandi

can you please play some M83 “Skin of the Night” (song sounds like The Cocteau Twins) or any M83? If not that, then how about some very old Charlatans UK? thanks

  • paul slavens

I will check em out Brandi
    thanks

  • Stephanie

I was happy to turn on the radio and hear some St. Vincent from ‘Marry Me.’ Thanks!

As for music suggestions, I have been grooving on Warpaint, Glasser, and The Dodos recently. Lord Huron’s “The Stranger” has also been getting some play.

  • Brandi

    thanks for the Joy Division!

  • megan

Please play the Jesus and Marychain-just like honey. I am driving from Arlington to Denton with a broken cd player.

    Paul:
Joe Morello died yesterday in his NJ home at 82. Undoubtedly one of the greatest jazz drummers of our time. If you can squeeze it in, how about some Take Five by the Dave Brubeck quartet, which he played on the original 1959 recording. Thanks. RIP Joe Morello.

Just FYI – Lovecats is not from the 90s – it’s from the early 80s.

Thanks for the great tunes Paul! Your show always takes my wife and I to another place. Were enjoying the nice evening on our deck with you. Would you be willing to spin some Wall of Voodoo? Anything except Mexican Radio.

  • paul slavens

I told you I wasnt paying attention at the time. : )

  • Kelly

Adrian Belew recorded an acoustic version of Matte Kudasai. It’s terrific. Also, you might like The Clarendonians’ Shoo Be Doo Be Doo. Early rocksteady from a couple of Jamaican kids.

  • Kelly

Everything Gives You Cancer by Joe Jackson.

  • Kevin Kunreuther

This Oregon track is very cinematic. I’ll have to find the full version.
BTW, suggestion for next week one of three tracks from Pete Townshend’s Scoop album, his collection of demo tracks and experimental recordings: “Politician”, kind of social commentary Who disguised as a heavy Motown number, “Goin’ Fishing”, very influenced by Beach Boys Smiley Smile album, or the demo of “Magic Bus”, which was originally recorded in 1965, was never really considered as a serious contender for a Who song, ’til Pete and band reconsidered it, after failure of the “Dogs” single in ’68.

  • Regan

If you’ll play Wall of Voodoo, play something by Stan Ridgway off of Neon Mirage. Also, Slim Gaillard, I think, again?

  • Kelly

Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah!

  • paul slavens

thanks for all the great suggestions yall
have a great week and tune in next week to hear some of this great music
    cheers
