Frankie Campagna: A Video Tribute

by Stephen Becker 7 Jan 2011 3:25 PM

Frankie Campagna was memorialized last night at an event that was both somber and rollicking. Held at the newly reopened Club Dada, hundreds of mourners stopped by to pay tribute to the Spector 45 frontman who died New Year’s Day. Cindy Chaffin was in the house and put together this tribute video of a young man gone too soon.

Update: We forgot to add a link to DeepEllum Texas, which has info about how to contribute to the Deep Ellum Community Association in Frankie’s name, as well as links to tributes, and opportunities to contribute memories.

I didn’t know Frankie Campagna well. But everyone at Art&Seek appreciates all that he and his family have done for arts, music and Deep Ellum.
Cindy Chaffin did know Frankie well. It’s especially difficult to make a video tribute for a close friend. Thank you Cindy, for handling the video, and the evening, with such grace and love.

  • I forgot to add that all the photos in the video were shot by Scotty Mankoff, another truly great friend of Frankie’s.

Nicely done, Cindy. I know how hard this was for you.

OMG, this is more touching than in person. I guess because of the pictures with it and the fact that I’m alone watching it instead of in a room full of people…

Thank you for this. Frankie deserves it too.

Cindy—really nicely done. Still brings tears to my eyes.

A great memorial tribute video. Thanks for this Cindy.
