Monday Morning Roundup
by Stephen Becker 27 Dec 2010

Today in the roundup: The year in visual arts, more of the best of Denton and the importance of community building.

LET’S GET VISUAL: What were the biggest events in the local visual arts world for 2010? Over the weekend, dallasnews.com rounded up its top 10, with James Magee’s show at the Nasher topping the list. Meanwhile, Front Row decided to break it down in terms of galleries and museums.

DENTON, TAKE II: Last week, dentonrc.com rounded up its best of Denton arts list for 2010. But apparently that list couldn’t contain all that was great about Denton this year. Another list appeared over the weekend with four additional reasons to love Denton in 2010.

ALL TOGETHER NOW: If you haven’t been reading Theater Jones’ series of year-end essays from local theater types, you’ve been missing out. The most recent one comes from Tashina Richardson of Denton’s Sundown Collaborative Theatre, who writes about the important of community-building in the theater world.
