Think Audio: Remembering Sinatra

by Stephen Becker 21 Dec 2010 10:30 AM

In case you missed it Monday, yours truly filled in for the vacationing Krys Boyd on Think. My guest was James Kaplan, whose new book, Frank: The Voice, looks at the first half of Frank Sinatra’s career. The book (and our interview) covered everything from Sinatra’s fascination with Bing Crosby, his rocky relationship with Ava Gardner and his approach to interpreting a song. You can listen to it here:

And just a quick programming note – I’ll be back in the big chair on Wednesday at noon, talking about the year in music. Guests will be our local major daily music critics: Preston Jones of the Fort Worth Star Telegram and Mario Tarradell of The Dallas Morning News. If you’ve got a question you’d like me to ask them, drop me a comment and I’ll run it by them during the show.

  • Stephen: Kudos to you on a great show. You did a terrific job interviewing Mr. Kaplan. You asked all the questions that came to mind and then some. Your questions were insightful and informed. I am very much looking forward to the Year in Music show. I’m hoping that we get to hear more of your interviews on the radio in 2011. Keep up the good work.
