Texas Monthly Dominates City / Regional Magazine Awards

In what has become something of a yearly ritual, Texas Monthly pretty much trounced everyone else at the 25th Annual National City and Regional Magazine Awards competition, which was announced June 7 at the annual conference in Providence, R.I. One of the awards was for a very moving North Texas-based feature.

In what has become something of a yearly ritual, Texas Monthly pretty much trounced everyone else at the 25th Annual National City and Regional Magazine Awards competition, which was announced June 7 at the annual conference in Providence, R.I. TM won eight awards in everything from general excellence to its website. One of the writing awards went to Skip Hollandsworth’s feature story, “Still Life,” about John McClamrock, the Dallas high school footballer who was paralyzed after a tackle in 1973 — and about his mother Ann’s daily efforts to keep him alive.
