The 7th Street Mural Project is looking to spruce up the backs of several commercial buildings along 7th Street in Oak Cliff. The idea is that a series of murals will be painted along the buildings that will provide some connectivity between the Bishop Arts District and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Eleven mural proposals have been submitted, and the artists are ready to paint. But first, some money needs to be raised to pay for the preparation of the buildings, paint and to compensate the artists. More than $5,000 has already been raised, but $25,000 is the goal.

This is where you come in. Depending on how much you can donate, there are various perks that the organizers are willing to give back. But the best is reserved for any person or business willing to fork over $2,500.  Those donors will have either their likeness or their logo painted onto the donor wall, which will be maintained for at least a year.

If you’d like to donate, click the pdf below for more information.

  • Interesting benefit for a mural sponsorship…a bit like Kent Twitchell’s photographic murals, except I think that he chose the people he painted based on the merit of their accomplishments, rather than money they donated…
