Jonathan Borofsky’s Walking to the Sky (2004) — the Nasher Sculpture Center’s popular piece of pole-vaulting uplift —  will be coming down for a year. Turns out the 100-foot-long metal pole needs to re-engineered (with a new “interior structure to decrease wind-induced vibration”). Turns out the 100-foot-long metal pole needs to re-engineered (with a new “interior structure to decrease wind-induced vibration”). While that’s going on, the 10 fiberglass folks will get shipped to LA, naturally, to be freshened up.
