At this morning’s media preview for the Dallas Art Fair, I got to talking to Kevin Vogel of Valley House Gallery and Sculpture Garden. Valley House has a setup this year in the same spot as it did last year. The only difference is that there isn’t a gallery across the aisle like there was last year, allowing for a nice view out the window.

I told Vogel that he might be in for some nice natural light if things clear up, which he says is exactly what he doesn’t want.

“This is actually perfect art fair weather. You don’t want it to be too nice out to where people won’t come,” he said, standing in front of his temporary gallery space. “The only thing that would make it any better is if it were about 40 degrees out. Then people would be sitting around in their houses asking, ‘What can we go do?’ But other than that, this is perfect art fair weather.”

I suppose every silver lining has a cloud?
