Congratulations to Guy Reynolds of Dallas, the winner of the Flickr Photo of the Week contest. This photo from One Arts Plaza is Guy’s second victory in the contest; he last won in October for this amazing triptych. This was one of the toughest decisions we’ve had in a while for the contest as we also really liked this photo. Guy follows last week’s winner, Greg Westfall.
If you would like to participate in the Flickr Photo of the Week contest, all you need to do is upload your photo to to our Flickr group page. It’s fine to submit a photo you took previous to the current week, but we are hoping that the contest will inspire you to go out and shoot something fantastic this week to share with Art&Seek users. If the picture you take involves another facet of the arts, even better. The contest week will run from Monday to Sunday, and the Art&Seek staff will pick a winner on Monday afternoon. We’ll notify the winner through FlickrMail (so be sure to check those inboxes) and ask you to fill out a short survey to tell us a little more about yourself and the photo you took. We’ll post the winners’ photo on Wednesday.

Title of photo: One Arts Plaza
Tell us more about your photo: I worked with renowned architecture critic David Dillon for his critical piece about the two anchors of the Arts District, One Arts Plaza and the Hunt Oil building. I shot a series over the course of several weeks. This was before the Winspear and Wyly were on the scene. The distinctive square of light on One Arts is like a signature piece on the skyline, and I wanted to present it in a way people don’t ordinarily see it. Shot from the courtyard through a blue screen without any context of the building, it’s totally abstract. Here’s a link to the accompanying story that ran on dallasnews.com.
