THE YEAR IN ARCHITECTURE: With no full-time architecture critic at either of our major metros, the Dallas Center for Architecture is filling the void with a compilation of year-end lists from critics around the country. The DCA blog is less than a year old, so the bloggers there felt it was a bit too young to do a local list. But one is promised for next year.

Teenage Cool Kids’ “Foreign Lands” checked in at No. 2 on Wednesday. … Fort Worth Weekly widens its scope to look at the best 817 music of the decade. Lots of currently great bands and some no-longer-with-us bands on that list. … DFW.com’s Preston Jones calls Telegraph Canyon’s The Tide and the Current the best local album of the year.
