Art&Seek had us a time last night at Art Conspiracy 5! We have so much audio, pictorial and video footage to share, that it might make for a week’s worth of checking back here just to enjoy it all.

The above video is just a rough raw barely edited taste of what I experienced behind the lens, which is nothing compared to what you’ll find here in the coming days…

  • Absolutely Brilliant!!

  • Yay!! Great job capturing the moment, Cindy. We at Art&Seek were very fortunate to be able to participate in such a great event….and important to note, it’s for a great cause: Resolana. What fun. And be sure to check out Stephen’s slide show, of the artandseek.org home page.

We’ll report back on the stats for the evening – how many folks came, how much money was raised- as soon as we hear from the ArtCon team. Who, I hope, are all taking long naps.

  • ah, 363 more days…………..sigh

  • Great fun. Thanks for your support!

  • Bill, I saw ya that night, but your armed guards wouldn’t let anyone past them to give hugs!

Cabe, I looked everywhere for you! Your piece (Christopher Walken) was awesome! Jason Janik and I were raving about you that night!

  • Jason

Heck yeah, I was raving about Cabe’s painting. No surprise that it went for $700…

  • I was there, all over the place thinking how i was going to spend my $700…then SJSemrad explained the whole …charity thing to me and i cried myself away to a pile of salt….JK…i love this shindig

i was about all night, left late as usual, I always miss folks who said they were there all night, even last year when i had a perfect view of the whole event from one spot at any time
so Cindy……………maybe we should do a little Studio chat eh? huh? hmm
    ? nudge! hint …beg

  • Studio chat it is!!! Check you email….

  • I’m so glad to see all of the videos and hear all of the great feedback. The Art Conspirators did get some nap time in and we’ve been busy cleaning up the warehouse and reconciling numbers (not to mention catching up at our day jobs!). We should have some event results to share soon. Without getting into specifics, I can say things are looking great.

I’m so grateful for Art&Seek’s support. Your promotion before hand and presence at installation day and at the event took Art Conspiracy to a whole new level. (Honestly, I’m excited to see what I missed while running Art Con-related errands on installation day!)

Jason, thanks for taking part for the first time and Cabe, thank you for being involved since year one.

  • of course Cari. Would NOT miss it for the world. ts really the only time I get to meet and paint with other artists. Then actually have the public see my work. I used to be in a bunch of shows that Frank Campagna, me and some other Deep Ellum artists would do in bars around DE pre-kettle days, but since I took on the jobs doing portraits at Nokia Theater and then added Palladium Ballroom and PHP Frisco (plus a stint with Sprint Center for a year in KC, oh and a 14 mo daughter ) I am just slammed with work and rarely get ANY play time, like up 2-5 days at a time busy for last 3 years. It really stinks to put all that work into hundreds of oil portraits and then see them locked away backstage at Nokia and Palladium (at least Curtain Club has mine all in view, though the closets are full of em too). I paint 3-6 4×4 foot portraits a week and yet to my friends and the public it would appear that I am either unemployed, an “occasional” artist or one hell of a procrastinator living as an artist in name only. So, yeah, even though I would love to just take all the work I have done a display it so I could get some feedback on my efforts the last 8 years, I have no ownership of it and all I can offer is my Flikr Gallery or escort folks through to see them. So doing an 18 x18 portrait with others (whom I wish I got to paint with more often) and getting to talk with friends and strangers about it once a year really does make up for the lack of…..everything, for that year. So I do thank you guys and everyone who attended, has attended and will attend or be involved for making December have 2 favorite days for me. It is the one day of the year besides family events that I make bleeping sure I have time for. So yeah, definitely thanks to you and everything you do and those that work with you and cover the event as well.

Oh and Cindy Chaffin, I got no email?

  • Thank you guys it was a magnificent event, and I agree with Cari “see what I missed while running Art Con-related errands on that day!)”
Thank you for the videos 🙂
