    Paul,

In that case I’d like to get the ball rolling with a few requests.

    2. “Carry Stress in the Jaw” by Mr. Bungle

Peace, and have a great show. We all count on you.

    • paul

those are some wild and wonderful requests
I would say that I should be able to get those on in the next couple weeks
      cheers

  • Dan

    always a pleasure

  • Hi Paul-I just emailed you but I think I mailed to the old KERA email so don’t know if you will get it or not. Anyway…….ever heard of a band from Plano called Sleepy Sheep? I saw them at the Plano Balloon Festival and they were great! Bluesy rock with some country thrown in. Some covers but lots of originals too. I’m not sure they have recordings suitable for radio play yet but they do have a website- http://www.gosleepysheep.com and are on Facebook at Sleepy Sheep. Maybe they will have something “requestable” soon and you can play them! In the meantime you may just want to check them out. I believe they are 4 guys who played together in High School in Plano and have reconnected. My request for the night would be a Rolling Stones song that I think is called “Do you Think I would really care”. Absolutely love the show and the new station!!

    • paul

      I will look into it
and try to get the Stones on next week for you
      thanks !

  • Ron Bulla

Wow. Digging this! Out comes Jack-N-The Box? Nice.

  • Russ

“The Happy Wanderer” by a men’s chorus. Bought a used album of the children’s chorus, apparently a big hit in the 1950s, but it was junk (LP, not the song). Backstory: Guy had a condo in Breckenridge CO in 1980. Had a pristine 1940s jukebox with the bubbles rising up. Asked if it were a repro or restored. Noop, NEW. Found it IN THE CRATE somewhere, never opened. He paid $20 for it! Some people have all the luck… Offered $1000, turned me down. On it was a 78 of “The Happy Wanderer,” men’s chorus version. Have never been able to find it. The kicker: he also had one or two other jukeboxes in the crate. AARRRGGHHH!

    • paul

sounds like a very difficult recording to locate

  • Bruce

Any little played Little Feat would be a treat. I know it’s more of an alternative show, but..

    • paul

heavens no , not an alternative show
      an all eclectic show
Little Feat is a totally wonderful suggestion
I will get some in next week
      cheers

  • Kelly Higgins

    Hey Paul,

A request for next week. Would you please bring your accordian into the studio and play John Cage’s 4’33 live for your listeners?

I’ve heard it’s a really important piece of music, but I’ve never heard it played on the radio. I understand it’s not very difficult to perform, and can be played on any intsrument. Some may have a problem with accordian, but I think for this particular piece it’s especially well suited.

    Thanks in advance.

    • paul

know what the difference between and accordion and a trampoline is?

    • Dan

I’ll bite. What’s the difference between an accordion and a trampoline?

    • Kelly Higgins

Girls are cuter jumping on trampolines…

Maybe I have that wrong. I think it would do more for me, personally, to see one jumping on an accordian.

    • paul

      your answer is cooler Kelly
but the joke punch line is that you take your shoes off to jump on an accordion

    • Kelly Higgins

      Ahh,

I like mine better, because it has girls instead of shoes. Also, you could hurt yourself by jumping on an accordian barefoot. Thick boots, right? Or those weights deep-sea divers wear on their feet.

Saw Dweezil Plays Frank last week. Openned with Keep it Greasy. Eric Johnson came on for Muffin Man. Very good show. Good excuse to play some Zappa next week.

  • Bruce

    Or just play some Chomsky

    • paul

      which track?

  • Ron Bulla

    Great show.

  • mike

what station is this on? I don’t hear anything on 90.1

    • Stephen Becker

Mike – the show is now on KXT, 91.7 FM

  • JIM HANSON

Have you ever played anything from a group that played in dallas clubs several years ago that went by the name of Bees Knees

  • Dan

Thanks for the Goodman/Hampton. Nothing makes me feel happier than the vibraphones.

  • James

Wow. A Dallas music station that doesn’t suck. Not sure if we’re on the same page musically, but here goes.

    Blood Count – Duke Ellington
Walking on a Wire – Richard and Linda Thompson
    Sweet Dreams – Roy Buchanan
    Whispering Pines – The Band
Goodbye Pork Pie Hat – Charles Mingus
This Sky – Derek Trucks Band

    • paul

we are on the same page
      thanks

  • JIM HANSON

Or Willis Alan Ramsey, or Ray Wylie Hubbard or B.W Stevenson

  • Francois

Hey Paul thanks for playing that song of Rita Mitsouko, what fun!
Did you find that Telephone of Telephone “Le jour s’est levé ” Rebecca suggested it last week. Cheers
    Francois

    • paul

      no did not find it
      you got it?

  • Francois

  • Francois

    • paul

      thanks
      cheers

  • paul
