Several years ago I took my daughter to NYC. I had saved for the trip for quite awhile, so we stayed at the W Hotel, ate at Nobu and met celebrities such as Morimoto and some guy who talks about fashion on VH-1. I wasn’t partcularly as impressed as my daughter seemed to be.

However, on our last day, as we rode in the taxi to the airport, we were stopped at a light…that’s when Lauren Bacall emerged from her limo and actually leaned against our taxi while gaining her balance. I was so utterly starstruck that I could barely say the words…”omigawd, that’s Lauren Bacall”…to which my 12-year old daughter replied, “who is Lauren Bacall?…” Sigh.
