Last week, I shared some of the images from the upcoming Trinity Perspectives show at For Worth Community Arts Center. And since then, I’ve had some more come my way, so I thought I would post them, as well as any thoughts the artist sent along, a few at a time as we get closer to the show’s Sept. 5 opening. Enjoy:

Dennis Blagg, Trinity Tree: I have always wanted to paint this tree, this project gave me a great opportunity to do so.

blaggDan Blagg, River Trees: I support this effort because our very future is at stake, and an investment in natures cause is an investment in ourselves and all that nature offers us.

Carol Ivey, Feathered Brilliance: I first became aware of the bluebirds near the Trinity Trees last year in the spring. The year before that, my friend Jim Marshall had spotted a pair of birds there and contacted Streams and Valleys Inc. to get their OK to put five nesting boxes along the trail between University and Hulen. I found visiting the boxes and seeing the birds to be a source of hope and inspiration. When I told Jim I wanted to make a painting about the bluebirds he enthusiastically became my collaborator by sharing the portfolio of digital images that he has patiently captured over three seasons. The central image was painted from a still life set in my studio, and the eight circular vignettes are painted from the digital images (below).

rachelbounds1Rachel Bounds, Tribulations: The river flows through trials and tribulations. Drops of rain crying from the blue-eyed sky. Currents to the sea.
