Congratulations to Bill Miles of Richardson, the winner of the Flickr Photo of the Week contest.

CTA TBD

Congratulations to Bill Miles of Richardson, the winner of the Flickr Photo of the Week contest. Bill’s a bit of a ringer, as he owns his own business specializing in wedding and portrait photography. Check out his slick Web site here. He follows last week’s winner, The Psychotic Advisor.

If you would like to participate in the Flickr Photo of the Week contest, all you need to do is upload your photo to to our Flickr group page. It’s fine to submit a photo you took previous to the current week, but we are hoping that the contest will inspire you to go out and shoot something fantastic this week to share with Art&Seek users. If the picture you take involves another facet of the arts, even better. The contest week will run from Monday to Sunday, and the Art&Seek staff will pick a winner on Monday afternoon. We’ll notify the winner through FlickrMail (so be sure to check those inboxes) and ask you to fill out a short survey to tell us a little more about yourself and the photo you took. We’ll post the winners’ photo on Wednesday.

Title of photo: Sky Scraper

Equipment: Canon 5D; Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 L II

About the photo: Well, this photo was taken at a birthday party in Burleson. This is actually my niece. As you can see from the sky, storms had recently passed through, and the sun was starting to set. I shot about 5 or 6 of these with different kids diving off the rock. This particular one gave me the silhouette I was looking for, as well as some detail in the figure. I shot wide to capture the scene. Sometimes your are pleasantly surprised with what you come away with after a shoot.
